Why Hazard classification does not show for a new material

Sometimes the Review Ingredients shows H225 (R11) or H224 (R12), however a new material mix does not have any hazard displayed. The reason being that no classification was triggered is because a material is classified only as H225 (Cat 2) which is a Physical code. Unlike health hazard / environmental hazard codes, physical codes do not have direct cutoff values. Physical hazard classification is to be based on test results (ie. flash point, boiling point etc) or UN transport data. In this case, none of these information was fed to the system, hence no classification was generated. There is a DG SUGGEST tool at the left hand corner of the CREDO form that prompts user to suitable DG classes should the system calculate the product to be a dangerous good. To trigger this, please toggle the DG SUGGEST switch ON prior to submitting / updating the SDS. Selecting the appropriate UN number will in turn generate the correct classification.
