The term “catalogue” is used in various user interface elements and features. Chemwatch has incorporated a Folder Structure to include a catalogue directory within the tree structure.

Materials requested to be added into the database from a company will be registered into the unfiled folder in order to be filed later into a specific folder or location. |
Manifest |
System’s directory that can represent a site map for a company by using folder structure |
Manifest tree can be used to create areas, sections, locations by using a folder structure based on manifest site map to keep records/register of materials kept on sites/locations including Sisot related folders. |
Deleted |
System’s directory that stores all deleted folders and materials |
Recycle bin for all removed folders and its contents or materials deleted in the system. Not all users may have access to this folder due to permission rights to edit or not to edit this folder or other folders. |
The Materials table contains a “Material Name” column drop down arrow that provides users with options to display the list register using “Material Name” or Preferred Name or Cat (Catalogue) Name as default view.
Material Name Drop Down options
1. Material Name View
Select the Material Name drop down arrow from the Material column header to default material register list to be viewed using the names of the materials.
2. Preferred Name View
Select the Material Name drop down arrow from the Material column header and click on Preferred Name to default material register list to be viewed using the preferred names of the materials.
3. Cat (Catalogue) Name view
Select the Material Name drop down arrow from the Material column header and click on Cat Name to default material register list to be viewed using the catalogue names as the materials “document names”. Note that Cat Name is the catalogue name assigned to available vendor documents of the products in the Chemwatch full/own collection.
The “Cat Name” is displayed instead of the material name and shows the vendor associated with the cat name as per available document name. If there’s more than one vendor, the multiple button will still display in the vendor column.
Notes
- The default settings related to catalogue name display is “Material Name”
unless otherwise set up by the domain administrator. Users also have the
ability to sort by cat name “On the Fly” even when the default view is set to
“Material Name”.
- The system’s
administrator will set the default view for all users, however, users with
permission to the user interface settings, can change the default view or
simply alter the default view on the fly as shown above.
