When prioritising risks related to work activity, generally, am analysis of problems and causes will help in identifying gaps and recommended control measures. Control banding and risk control sheets are used to prevent issues or improve the situation.

A control approach document sets the principles of the control approach and common activities or processes that may address inhalation, skin, environment, safety, general maintenance and checklists. The ILO Toolkit provides task control sheets based on the respective control approach.

Task sheets are described for given tasks as provided in the risk assessment module task panel. An example for a Workplace related task has 3 specific tasks given:

  • Work conducted in  a glove box
  • Work conducted in ventilated booth
  • Work conducted on workbench or in cupboard

A Task in most cases does not affect the risk assessment conclusion but does provide guidance on control approaches relevant to the activity undertaken.

If there are no tasks related to your work environment activities listed, user defined tasks can be created using the User defined section of the panel.
