If the risk assessment key lock icon is locked and does not open when selected, this could be related to user privileges or a permission attribute issue. Note that users that do not have the rights to edit a risk assessment cannot unlock a risk assessment.

Consult with your administrator to grant edit rights to the folder and/or privilege to edit risk assessments. If unsure of who your administrator is for the system, send an email to helpdesk@chemwatch.net.  Once the issue is resolved, the unlocked icon will show the open lock icon.

Generally, the lock/unlock icons serve as a "Save" function for any risk assessment. Therefore, to perform a risk assessment, the lock icon must be opened, but to save a risk assessment, the unlocked icon must be locked after setting the respective risk assessment parameters.
