Case 1: If the hazard icon has a question mark for a material


The hazard colour coded icons  that are displayed in the hazard column for each classified cat name stem from the categories based on Chemwatch hazard ratings criteria. The table below provides a summary of the logic behind the colour coding of each icon with respect to the nature of the hazard.

Any material with the question mark icon depicts an unknown hazard classification due the unavailability of a Chemwatch Gold SDS at the time of product registration or Data Extraction (VGD) was not extracted for the material nor was it requested or currently under processing. For more information on VGD related products, consult with customserservice@chemwatch.net.  


What is possible to do in this case scenario? 


Chemwatch system provides a Data Extraction Tool (DET) for users who have been granted the applicable privileges to extract data (User Defined Data Extraction - UGD). The main datapoints that effect the classification of a material are in section 2 and 14 of the Vendor SDS. 



Case 2:  If the Approvals icon has a question mark for a material

User dependent field for setting approval status of a material. Set approval by a specific person, set Use by; Risk Assessment and dates. Note that this setting does not relate nor is it linked to Approvals Module. It is a static record entry. 

This attribute can be used for any approval criterion. It provides these status options: Not Approved, Approval Required or Approved. 

Materials without any approval set – will show an  icon.

Approval Required – will display icon.

Approved – will display  icon.
