Chemwatch automatically calculates the level of the hazardous chemical based on five categories namely;


Categories for Hazard Ratings

  • Health / Toxicity
  • Flammability
  • Reactivity
  • Body Contact
  • Chronic


Each of these is given one of 5 rating from 0-4.  0 is being the least harmful and 4 being the most.


0 = Minimum (colour: grey)

1 = Low (colour: blue)

2 = Moderate (colour: yellow)

3 = High (colour: orange)

4 = Extreme (colour: red)


What do these hazard colour-coded icons mean?

The hazard colour-coded icons that are displayed in the hazard column for each classified cat name stem from the categories based on Chemwatch hazard rating criteria. The table below provides a summary of the logic behind the colour coding of each icon concerning the nature of the hazard.
